BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS
Giles' uses a unique technique of "paper relief" to create
elaborate collages for children's book illustrations. Every illustration
involves drawing, cutting, painting, and gluing. Often, a piece
has seven or eight layers. Spacers are placed between each layer to give
the final artwork added depth and dimension.
